Saskatoon woman charged with sexual assault, making child porn

Charges including sexual assault, making child pornography, distributing child pornography and bestiality have been laid against a 25-year-old Saskatoon woman.

Saskatoon police on Tuesday said investigators received a report on Jan. 11 that a child was being sexually assaulted and that images were being shared on a social media platform. The incidents of abuse are alleged to have been taking place since December 2019.

According to Saskatoon police, the victims are a two-year-old girl and a four-year-old girl. The woman faces charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, two counts of invitation to sexual touching, distributing child pornography, making child pornography, committing a sexual offence against a child, attempting to commit a sexual offence against a child and bestiality.

She appeared Tuesday in Saskatoon provincial court and is scheduled to appear again Friday. The woman’s name is not being published in order to protect the identities of the children involved.

The children are now in a safe environment and police at this point do not believe there are other victims, Saskatoon police spokeswoman Alyson Edwards said in an email.
